We are serious about sustainability.

AMIE strives for beautiful and well crafted products, produced in a way that is less harmful for the environment. That is why we utilize sustainable organically sourced cotton, following the GOTS certification, in all of our cotton garments.

GOTS (The Global Organic Textile Standard))

The organic cotton in our products is certified by GOTS. The Global Organic Textile Standard is recognised as the world’s leading and highest certification in organic fibres. The certification guarantees cotton is organically grown without the use of any harmful chemical products and pesticides. During the growing process, organic cotton uses up 91% less water compared to conventional cotton.

Not only do GOTS certify organic cotton, but also consider the environmental protection and social responsibility. They ensure that the environmental impact is managed and reduced and make sure working conditions are safe with no discrimination and child labour.

Less CO₂.

The production of organic cotton releases much less CO₂ than the production of "regular" cotton. An average of 978 kilograms of CO₂ is released to produce 1000 kilograms of organic cotton. Regular, non-organic, cotton production puts out about 1800 kilograms of CO₂

Ethical Manufacturing

Our garments are made in a factory that is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation. They work on improving labour conditions in garment factories and ensure high standards on the treatment of workers.

More pleasant for your skin.

Organic cotton clothing is more pleasant for sensitive skin due to its unedited nature and the absence of irritating dyes. In addition, it appears that it is softer and thicker than conventional cotton and therefore clothes made of organic cotton last longer. This is because with conventional cotton the fibres are weakened by the chemicals used in production.

Care Guide

All garments are made form organic cotton. These garments are delicate and need to be cared for. Hand wash all AMIE garments to ensure the graphics maintain vibrance and quality. Hand wash, no bleaching, ironing 110°, do not tumble dry, do not dry clean, do not iron on print directly, turn garment inside out and also use greaseproof paper.

Please do not wash your hoodie or sweater directly after purchase but wait around 2 weeks after you received it.

Hand Washing Guide

- Fill a large basin, tub, or sink with lukewarm water

- Stir in a good quality mild detergent, with no bleach (not a “detergent soap” as this can lead to soap stains)

- Submerge your garments and then swish them slowly from side to side for about five minutes.

Don't scrub or scrunch the garment while you're doing this, even for stains, as the warm water and detergent will release these marks and blemishes whilst soaking.
